Slack becomes the post-sales command center, RPA automates escalations, and CSMs work in-channel
The gist
Customer Success is moving from ticket handling to orchestrating work inside collaboration and automation layers, where speed, routing, and specialist coordination now define performance.
This week’s developments
Slack and RPA Become the New Control Points for Post-Sales Work
Salesforce’s Hyperagent for Slack and HCLSoftware’s acquisition of Robotiq.ai pushed agentic automation further into the post-sales operating layer. Salesforce is embedding case triage and expert swarming inside Slack, so teams can route issues, respond to @mentions, and pull in specialists without leaving the collaboration layer. HCLSoftware is adding enterprise RPA to HCL UnO Agentic, extending automation from orchestration into task completion across business systems, including environments where APIs are limited. In the same week, Curve Dental put customer success, support, and related post-sales functions under a Chief Customer Officer, tightening executive ownership of the full customer outcome chain.
The shift is not just faster routing; it is governed execution. Vendors are now packaging automation inside daily tools and pairing it with human review checkpoints, approved data sources, role-based access, and audit trails that record prompts, source records, outputs, edits, and approvals. That makes onboarding, follow-up, renewals, and case work more executable inside controlled paths.
For practitioners, this extends the earlier move from prevention into execution: the job is moving away from chasing handoffs and toward defining rules, approving exceptions, and supervising outcomes. Teams that can design and govern these workflows will matter more to retention, service delivery, and expansion.
