Descartes’ acquisition of Tai is the clearest signal this week: Tai brings an AI transportation platform for brokers that spans quoting, carrier sourcing, load execution, billing, and customer engagement. Trimble also moved past generic visibility messaging with its AI-driven Freight Visibility suite, adding predictive ETAs, automatic delay alerts, exception management, and an AI Transport Analyzer. On the funding side, OORJAA raised about ₹9.7 crore in a Series A first close to scale Datashastra, its AI logistics stack focused on route optimisation, reconciliation, and 24×7 control-tower visibility.
Together, these moves show AI being inserted into the exact freight workflows that follow disruption signals: quote, assign, alert, resolve, and reconcile. That is the next step after the visibility and orchestration capabilities covered earlier: not just identifying risk faster, but embedding decision support directly into execution systems where minutes matter and exceptions create cost.
