This week’s developments

Agentic Marketing Shifts from Task Assistants to Workflow Execution

Yext expanded its agentic marketing platform with Corvo AI, Klaviyo opened external access through 260 MCP tools and 490 APIs, and Auxia launched Agent Studio to analyze campaign data, find funnel drop-offs, generate creative briefs, and trigger changes across connected tools. Madison Logic, Certinia, Optimove, Webflow, and Augeo also added agentic features, while Salesforce, Anthropic, Quiq, and WRITER pushed the shared infrastructure for agent runtime, live action-taking, and context management.

The shift is from copilots that help with isolated tasks to systems that execute across segmentation, planning, trafficking, optimization, and reporting. Examples now include impression forecasting, audience planning, and programmatic deal execution across linear TV and streaming, plus agents that can act inside live workflows rather than just recommend next steps.

For working marketers, the practical test is no longer whether an agent can draft or summarize. It is whether it connects cleanly to your stack, survives audit scrutiny, and proves impact on pipeline, CAC payback, and incrementality. The teams that win will treat agentic tools as operational infrastructure, not novelty software.

How should teams redesign roles for AI-driven workflow execution?

If you're an individual contributor

  • Drafting is table stakes; workflow control is what makes you valuable.
  • Learn to verify agent outputs, spot bad logic, and connect tools end to end—your edge is supervising execution, not just creating it.

If you manage a team

  • Your team must shift from producing assets to running AI-driven workflows.
  • Coach for exception handling, QA, and tool fluency; reallocate time from manual review to testing where agents actually move pipeline.

If you lead the organization

  • Agentic marketing is now operating model work, not a side experiment.
  • Invest in stack integration, governance, and outcome metrics now; build around pipeline, CAC payback, and incrementality or fall behind.

AI Discovery Is Becoming a Separate Search Layer

Google AI Overviews are decoupling discovery from classic rankings: only 37.1% of cited URLs came from Google’s top 10 results, while 36.7% came from outside the top 100. That means being visible in AI answers is no longer just a function of ranking well in organic search. The effect is strongest earlier in the journey, where informational queries dominate, non-branded CTR is falling, and branded discovery improves when a brand is cited or named. Cited brands are earning materially more organic and paid clicks than uncited competitors.

The measurement stack is catching up. Semrush launched its 2026 AI Visibility Index, while AirOps, Bing Webmaster Tools, Google Search Console, and Microsoft Clarity expanded reporting on citations, mentions, grounding queries, and AI referral trends. Google also added AI intent insights to Merchant Center, and Elite AEO Labs introduced a turnkey AI visibility system.

For marketers, the practical shift is clear: SEO rankings still matter, but they no longer fully explain discoverability. AI visibility is now measurable enough to manage as its own reporting layer, which makes citation tracking, mention quality, and branded presence part of day-to-day performance work.

How should we adapt SEO strategy for AI answer visibility?

If you're an individual contributor

  • Ranking well no longer guarantees you’ll be found in AI answers.
  • Learn citation and mention tracking; your edge is spotting where content wins AI visibility, not just classic SEO.

Sources

If you manage a team

  • Your team’s SEO work now needs AI visibility, not just rank tracking.
  • Shift coaching toward citation quality, branded presence, and reporting AI referrals so the team can prove discoverability.

Sources

If you lead the organization

  • Search is splitting: AI visibility now needs its own operating model.
  • Fund AI visibility reporting and ownership now; if you keep treating it as SEO-only, you’ll miss demand and budget.

Creator Marketing Is Turning Into a Commerce Operating System

Amazon India launched Creator Connections, a self-serve marketplace where eligible creators can join brand campaigns and earn performance-based commissions when content drives qualified clicks or purchases. The launch reportedly starts with about 50,000 brands or advertisers and 5,000 creators, with expansion planned across Amazon’s larger base of more than 1.65 lakh creators. In Australia, the same shift is hardening: AiMCO’s State of Creator Marketing Australia 2026 says 84% of organisations already invest in creators and 77% expect to increase spend over the next two years. Market estimates put Australian influencer spend at A$830 million in the last 12 months, up 13.5% year over year, with forecasts to exceed A$1 billion in 2026.

The pattern is moving from one-off sponsorships to creator-led commerce systems tied directly to sales. AI is speeding that transition by automating creator discovery, vetting, outreach, approvals, payments, and performance tracking through tools including Upfluence, Stormy AI, Janney AI, Kuli, Creator.co, AhaCreator, Passionfroot, and Okara.

For marketers, the job is shifting from coordinating campaigns to running a measurable commerce workflow. The career edge now comes from tool fluency, commission and partner design, and the ability to connect creator activity, retail placements, and sales outcomes in one system.

How should we restructure creator marketing for commerce performance?

If you're an individual contributor

  • Creator work is becoming performance commerce, not just content.
  • Learn the tools and metrics that tie creator posts to clicks and sales, or you'll be stuck on execution while others own revenue.

Sources

If you manage a team

  • Your team must shift from campaign coordination to commerce ops.
  • Coach for partner design, commission logic, and reporting discipline; the team that can run creator workflows will outgrow the one that only briefs creators.

Sources

If you lead the organization

  • Creator marketing is now a sales system, so your org model must change.
  • Invest in creator-tech, retail linkage, and performance ownership now; if you keep it as a brand-only function, you'll miss the revenue shift.
